Heritage isn't something that exists only in the past. It survives in the language we speak, the stories we carry, the landscape around us, and the things we choose to keep alive.
Filleadh ar do Dhúchas is about reconnecting with those parts of ourselves that can sometimes feel distant or forgotten. The buzzard, a bird that disappeared from Ireland before naturally returning, became a fitting presence in the painting: something once lost, finding its place here again.
For me, it's a painting about return. About recognising where you come from, carrying it forward in your own way, and remembering that culture remains alive for as long as people continue to engage with it.
