Sometimes what we see in the world has as much to do with what we're carrying inside us as it does with what's actually there.
Scáth i Scáthán is about that idea. The crow sits quietly against a chaotic, shifting background, while small flowers appear amongst the darkness and colour. For me, it reflects the way our own fears, memories and emotions can shape how we interpret what's around us.
The title means Shadow in the Mirror, but the painting isn't really about darkness. It's about recognising the difference between what is there and what we might be projecting onto it.
